CAD/CAM or plaster casted orthoses are made by taking a plaster of paris cast or a foam impression of the foot. The Podiatrist will then write an individual prescription from the observations made and measurements taken.
The casts or moulds and your prescription are then sent to a specialist laboratory and constructed by a team of orthotic specialists and Podiatrists. These devices are high quality and are usually made of carbon fibre, polypropylene, EVA foams and/or memory foams. There are quite simply vast varieties in available materials that make it easy to select a perfect material for each area of every foot.
